Welcome to Port Bàn Holiday Park
Port Bàn is tucked away in the heart of Argyll, along the wild and remote western coastline of the Knapdale Peninsula, only 100 miles (2.5hr drive) from Glasgow – on the incredibly beautiful National Cycle Route 78 that runs between Oban and Campbeltown.
Our unique beachside family holiday park will be open for static caravan tenants and hirers from 1st March with limited facilities and from the 1st April we are also open for campers, motorhomes, tourers and glampers. Non-residents (and dogs) are also welcome. Keep looking through the website and see what we’ve got for you.
Argyll is beautiful and you can swim, bring your boat, paddle a canoe, go fishing, rock-pooling, cycle, walk or take a day trip to explore the area, at the same time discovering some of Scotland’s finest local food; it also is a place where children can benefit from the freedom and space Port Bàn brings. Many are content to relax in the tranquil atmosphere, whilst camping, touring or enjoying the setting sun which can be seen from every static caravan.

Port Ban now have two 22kW EV (Electric Vehicle) Chargers, available for public use daily between 8am and 11pm.

History and Mission of Port Bàn
The Sheldrick Family have welcomed people to stay in the haven of Port Ban for over 50 years.
Offering a ‘wee taste of heaven on the West Coast’ Port Ban Holiday Park has a distinctive flavour all of its own, combining a family atmosphere, offering tranquility, secluded beaches and stunning views of Islay and Jura.
Port Bàn Holiday Park was started in 1967 by David and Joan Sheldrick, practicing Christians from farming and missionary backgrounds respectively. Their vision was never purely commercial and was to provide affordable holidays in idyllic natural surroundings, giving spiritual, mental and physical refreshment to visitors. To this end the Park’s Tenants and regular visitors have always supported this vision and made a significant contribution to the Park’s activities and development.
In short to give visitors “a wee taste of heaven.”
The Park is still owned and run by the family and celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2017.
